Videos

This video, broadcasted in the German kids TV show „pur+“ explains the sanitation system in building at the GIZ headquarters and the process of struvite production within the SANIRESCH project (German version. English subtitles available by clicking on "cc").

This video shows the pretreatment of the brownwater treatment plant. The pretreatment consists of a screen basket with a screw mounted in the inside. When the brownwater passes through the screen basket, the liquids are drained into a collection tank underneath. The solids are transported by the screw until the end of the screen basket and get discharged through a chute. Via a connected pipeline the solids pass on to a pump station. For a better understanding of the process, kindly have a look on this flow chart.

For the pretreatment of the greywater the HUBER Turny is used. The Turny is a ball bearing mounted, funnel-like shaped screen that is driven by the force of the inflowing greywater. The motion of the screen avoids blocking by solids - they are instead washed down and discharged separately.
