Agricultural production / Legal situation Print

The activities carried out under the topic of plant nutrition deal with the agricultural reuse of urine and use of MAP (struvite), with a focus on fertiliser experiments in the open field.  In these experiments, the fertilising effect on renewable primary products and on cereals will be investigated. Within this context, the opinion of farmers on the use of urine for fertilising their agricultural crops will also be asked.

The German legal situation for urine separation, treatment and reuse will be clarified, and recommendations for the responsible authorities to improve the legal conditions will be developed.

This lead of this focus point is the University of Bonn.

An overview of the latest project results in this component regarding agricultural application of urine and the status regarding the acceptance studies were presented at the last meeting in February 2012.
